The ELiMS Sorting Station allows items to be sorted and returned quickly to the shelves in order to reduce turnaround time.
Sorting of items using the Sorting Station is very simple. The librarian simply puts the item on the sorting pad and the system immediately displays on the screen, which category and compartment the item belongs to.

The system literally takes away the stress and strain associated with book sorting.
While the item is being scanned, the RFID tag is automatically "armed" so that the book is ready to return to the shelf.
Due to the seamless link with the LMS computer system, the librarian can be prompted immediately if there are special instructions relating to the item being sorted, e.g. the item has been reserved by a customer.

For even higher automation, an automatic sorter with conveyor belts may be installed which will divert the items automatically to the correct collection bins/shelves.
