Real-Time Tracking on the Shelf
 
 
 
The ELiMS Smart Shelf System is an extended feature of the existing Electronic Library Management System. It is designed to provide real-time tracking of tagged library materials on shelves.

The Smart Shelf System is designed for use with existing library shelves, including metallic shelves. Once implemented, the system provides accurate shelf location information of all library items. Stock-takes and searches for particular items on shelf may now be conducted anytime and as many times in a day as desired, and it is as easy as clicking a button on a computer terminal.

The inventory system can be enhanced with the various functionalities of the Smart Shelf System.

 
 » Inventory The user is able to perform stock-taking by selecting a particular shelf or all shelves. With this, the user is able to identify low stock count, missing items, extra items, etc.
 » Search Item Allows the user to search for an item on the shelf.
 » Track Misplaced Item Library materials are scanned and compared with the database to determine the correct shelf for the items.
 » Browse Count Browse count of items can be determined with periodic scanning.
 » Generate Reports The administrative module is able to generate reports branch-specific and system-wide based on the above features.
