The ELiMS Electronic Article Surveillance Gantry (EAS) is the anti-theft part of our solution using the same RFID tags embedded inside each library item. Each lane of the gate (2 panels) covers a width of one (1) metre. When an unborrowed / armed item passes through, it sounds the controllable buzzer and flashes the strobe light. At the same time, the alarm counter will be incremented.
In the normal environment, the traffic counter registers the number of visitors entering and leaving the library. Both the alarm and traffic counter can be configured to be viewed via the Administration Station.
Theft detection is an integral feature of the chip within the tag. It is a standalone technology, which operates independently of the library database.

The EAS gate can also be used to read the content of the RFID tag.
